Kids indoor birthday games
Charades is a fun and easy DIY game. Simply write down different things, such as monkey, TV, going to bed, or singer, on little pieces of paper. Divide the kids into two teams. The teams will take turns picking one piece of paper at random. Each turn, one person from the team will look at the paper and act out what it says without talking. Their team will have to guess what it is before the timer runs out.
The team who guesses the most by the end of the game wins. Print out or draw a picture of a donkey without a tail, then make enough tails for all the kids that will be at the party. Use tape for the tails to stick to the donkey. Blindfold each child during their turn, spin them around, then face them towards the donkey and let them try to pin the tail on the donkey! Whoever gets closest to pinning the tail on the donkey wins!
Kids will love this game because whoever wins, gets a present! Buy a present that all the kids at the party will like—maybe a toy or a candy. Then wrap the present in multiple layers of wrapping paper. Have the kids sit in a circle and give them the present.
Whoever takes off the last layer wins the present! Button, Button is a fun guessing game that only requires one button to play. The object of the game is to guess who has the button. Beat the rainy day blues with a game of indoor hopscotch!
Simply tape off nine rectangles, and fill each with a fun pattern. Be sure to securely attach the paper to the floor using tape. Say cheese! You can make a fun indoor photo booth with paper. To create, place cut paper clouds on a solid blue surface or hanging cloth.
Create props from paper like these card stock balloons and camera. Have the kids strike a post and capture the fun of party time! It's off to the races! On a long table, tape off a finish line. To play, set the pom-poms in a row and go! Each child will have to "blow" their pom-pom across the finish line. Engage young kids in a game of letters! For this game, create an open display by gluing colorful letters in open boxes. You'll need one for each letter of the alphabet.
Next, choose small objects that correspond with each letter. For example, "S" for shell, "B" for ball, and "K" for key. Challenge each child to choose the object that matches the letter! It's OK to get messy in the name of art! Have the kids create works of art using only their fingerprints, or get the stamp pads out! It's time to get creative with costumes!
Set out a box filled with clean household supplies like rubber gloves, funnels, cardboard, and wooden spoons. Challenge each child to create a fun costume using only these found supplies. No need for fancy paintbrushes—a drinking straw is all you need! To create, cut a straw into five strips, 2—3 inches long each. Fan out the pieces, and dip in paint to create a festive star pattern.
Keep those empty paint cans and put them to good use! It's time for a game of bean bag toss! Cover each can in colorful paper we added big-eyed owls to ours , and label each one from 1 to 5.
Have kids stand close at first and slowly back up as they try to toss bean bags in each. Time for a pop quiz—how well do you know your geography? How about blindfolded? For an even greater challenge, blindfold them first! This is one of my favorite DIY indoor birthday party games. Donut Challange: Grab a couple dozen donuts and some string and you have one FUN toddler birthday party game idea!
I love this messy, sweet, and hilarious game! Grape in Flour: You will need a plate, flour, a knife, and some grapes. Put one grape balanced on top of a mountain of flour. Each child has to take a turn to slice away chunks of flour without knocking the grape.
The loser who knocks the grape ends up with their face pushed into flour! This game is fast-paced, competitive, and a little addictive. Blokus: Stake your claim and protect your territory by fitting as many of your pieces on the board as possible while strategically blocking your opponents!
This is a fun casual board game for couples to play on a nice relaxing evening at home! Clue: Become a detective with Clue and travel from room to be the first one to uncover the murder mystery. Scramble Twister Game: This game combines two fan favorites in one.
